It is finally here! The first global conference on crowdsourcing, open innovation and crowdfunding is underway in Singapore and the atmosphere is electric with some stellar speakers and delegates from all over the world.

Crowdsourcing Week was inaugurated on a beautiful, breezy evening in Singapore, with an opening gala atop the Loof on Monday, June 3. Epirot Ludvik Nekaj, (Founder and CEO) of Crowdsourcing Week delivered opening remarks on the journey that turned the year-long vision into a reality with the help of all our sponsors and partners. Roger Yuen, Senior Advisor and CEO of Crowdsourcing Week followed up with thoughts on open innovation and crowd participation.

Then it was time for Maya Bogle (c0-founder) and Arun Mehra (CEO India) of Talenthouse to reveal the crowdsourced official theme song of the conference. The music set the tone for the next few days of global participation from delegates and speakers from over 16 countries with over 50 presentations!

Day 1 saw the best minds in creative crowdsourcing come together at Singapore Management University for a full day of excellent content and discussions. Maria Ressa of Rappler and her team conjured a live blog of tweets and updates from the hashtag #csw13.

Ross Dawson giving the keynote address on day 1

Speakers like Sean Moffitt,  Ross Dawson, Shelley Kuipers and Ricky Kapur gave insights on the market and enterprise complexities of crowdsourcing and its potential. David Berkowitz, Simon Moss, Francois Petavy spoke about the many opportunities in the creatives while presenting cool case studies where brands tapped into their most trusted stakeholders for some deep engagement and participation. Jason Sew Hoy of 99Designs had some big news to share- while describing the journey that started with the founding of the company in Australia, Jason unveiled 99Designs Singapore! There was some great input on crowdsourcing in multimedia and film from Mike Wiluan and Jerry Chen.

I think Gaurav Mishra summed up the sentiment of the content when he tweeted:
