Helena Karlberg is the CEO of Piteå Science Park, a development company and innovation arena within the creative industries and cleantech. The mission is to support entrepreneurs, companies, students and researchers, to create growth throughout the region. Piteå Science Park provides meeting places, networks and a creative environment where participants actively and jointly learn from each other’s experiences, share knowledge, generate new business and will join forces to develop new products, services or companies.

Prior to Piteå Science Park, Helena was the head of Design & Destination at SVID, Swedish Industrial Design Foundation, and before that head of Design & Innovation at LTU Business (Luleå University’s business development company). Since 2013 she is included in a number of research and development projects in Social and Place Innovation at Luleå University of Technology.

Helena is a skilled communicator and innovation leader with international experience and a great national and international network. She is a popular public speaker, moderator and facilitator in the areas of design, innovation, business development and communications.
Helena is a qualified journalist (with education from both Sweden and UCLA, Los Angeles), and has worked in journalism and marketing for 15 years. She is the founder of Magma, a business network for women and one of the leading organizations in Sweden in gender-driven social innovation.
