Dan Sobovitz is a political scientist and communication expert. He is a speechwriter and digital strategist for a vice president of the European Commission as well as a co-founder of ‘Ceci n’est pas une crise’, a civil society organisation which fights against nationalistic populism around the world through analysis, pedagogy and civic action. He has years of experience in running digital campaigns for the EU institutions, including the EU Humanitarian Aid Department (DG ECHO), the Digital Agenda for Europe (DG CONNECT), the EU External Action Service (EEAS), etc. as well as the rationalisation of the European Commission’s web presence.

Having grown up in an Israeli West Bank settlement, Dan chose to join civil rights and pro-peace movements first in Israel and later in other parts of the world. He is alumnus of Columbia University (NY), Sciences Po Paris, the Hertie School of Governance (Berlin) and Tel Aviv University. Although a citizen of Israel, Switzerland, and Hungary, it’s been five years that he calls Brussels home.
