Francis Kariuki

Francis Kariuki is the chief of LanetUmoja located in the  Nakuru North Sub-County of Nakuru County in Kenya. He was a school teacher for 21 years and later joined the president’s office as the chief-in-charge of LanetUmoja location. The area has a population of 29000 people. He started using Twitter as a tool for community policing, helping the community in the neighbourhood watch through sharing of information via tweeting. The crime rate was reduced by 90%. They have recovered lost animals, children and even helped people with disabilities.
