Introduction
James Scott is COO and partner at The Collective, and drives all things development and strategy related. James first came across The Collective during the summer of his second year at Cambridge University. He was about to board a plane to Thailand to “find himself”, when his Aunt convinced him he should get some work experience. He saw the Marketing Intern role advertised at The Collective, and consequently spent his summer managing the refurb and letting of The Collective Camden. He went back to Cambridge to finish his final year, and not one to miss out on a great opportunity, Reza went to visit him the day of his final exams, making him an offer he couldn’t refuse. The rest, as they say, is history! He has spoken at length about the Private Rented Sector (PRS) as a service and the need for disruption in the property sector at events including MIPIM and RESI, as well as participating in research such as Osborne Clarke’s report on Alternative Assets. James has also published thought pieces in several publications such as Property Week and is regularly featured in the trade and national press. James graduated from the University of Cambridge, Trinity College, with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
