Pras Ranaweera is a Senior Program Officer on the K-12 education team at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, where she manages open application processes for intermediaries seeking multi-year, $10-15M grants to lead Networks for School Improvement. She was previously a Partner (Academic Strategy) at TNTP, a non-profit education consultancy and, before that, was Chief of Staff for Data & Accountability then Deputy Chief of Student Assessments at D.C. Public Schools. Pras spent seven years in intelligence and law enforcement roles in the UK, beginning as a Case Officer at Interpol, London. She also taught English in public secondary schools in Japan and Switzerland. Pras is a graduate of the Broad Residency in Urban Education and has a second Master’s Degree in Intelligence and International Security from King’s College, London. Pras lives in Washington, D.C.
