Eliminating Exclusivity: The Future of Inclusive Design & Technology

Robin Christopherson

Inclusive design, combined with the power of crowd-sourced data and services, will optimise the experience of every customer – and literally change the lives of many. Robin is Head of Digital Inclusion and part of the globally-acclaimed accessibility and tech team at AbilityNet. Robin will challenge any preconceptions we may have about the potential of technology and the power of the crowd to help everyone regardless of ability.

Being blind himself, he provides us with an excellent first-hand example of the choices we can make for all our customers and users if we simply design with an eye for inclusion. Robin will be talking about (but more importantly demonstrating) a range of technologies that use crowdsourced data or assistance and how they are transforming people’s lives regardless of ability or environment. Will you be part of the everybody-technology future?

You will leave with a vivid appreciation of how tech, from simple device hacks to cutting-edge apps and gadgets, can help engage everyone regardless of their particular needs. Oh, and you will never forget Robin’s practical demonstration of the nightmare that he and millions like him face every day when they come face-to-face with exclusive, and not inclusive, design.
