‘The Future of Crowdfunding’, the first conference in Berlin on April 17, focused on the long-term implications of crowdfunding, its legal and cultural challenges was produced by ikosom and Crowdsourcing Week.
The conference was supported by IHK Berlin and sponsored by GSK Stockman + Kollegen Law Firm. Christian Wiesenhutter from IHK opened the summit stating that Berlin and IHK truly supports and welcomes such initiatives. Over 120 people from across Europe attended the event clearly showing how well crowdfunding is perceived in the region and as well as its rapid adoption across the board.
The Future of Crowdfunding’ conference in Berlin was organized by ikosom (Institut fűr Kommunikation in Sozialen Medien), a private research institute with expertise in digital communication as it pertains to community management, digital fundraising, government 2.0, e-participation and legal issues.The conference brought together crowdfunding experts from Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Poland, Sweden, Denmark, France, Belgium and Italy and featured talks on Architecture and infrastructure, co-financing, crowdinvesting and funding. The conference also highlighted the legal and cultural challenges to make crowdfunding available for public infrastructure and brought together experts on crowdfunding platforms and legislation.

Under the theme ‘Road to CSW Singapore’ these summits were planned to offer European organizations a global platform for innovation, efficiency and social responsibility as we head towards Crowdsourcing Week in Singapore -June 3-7. With the other two events in Amsterdam and Warsaw, the three European summits brought together more than 500 people, experts and professionals in this space.
